General Yoshijiro Umezu Signs Treaty

“Japanese representative signs surrender documents aboard the Missouri, Tokyo Bay, Sept. 2, 1945.”

From S/Sgt Charles Restifo’s Autobiography (page 119):

We made about four thousand prints of the signing ceremony. About one hundred eight by ten prints went to General MacArthur who autographed them and distributed them himself. The rest were given to personnel authorized by the General’s Staff or the Chiefs of Staff.
